Spray Paint + Oils
The Last Unicorn Custom Loof
Progress Shots:
The Beginning
In need of sanding
Taping the jewels
Taped and primed with white spray paint
Gray oil paint shading
Painting the saddle and blanket
More trappings. I thought I would go with colors I don't normally use.
Silver trim
At this point I presented it to mom...and like me, she only liked the unicorn ><
The Last Unicorn
Adding in warmer colors - I just didn't like where it was before
More gold and darkened lines
Started to darken the mane
Darkened mane and tail with oils (painting a lot on and rubbing it off)
You know, there just wasn't enough contrast in this palette...
Getting a bit darker
Darkened the hooves and back trappings
Hooves done
Added a dark blue glaze over the straps, and a dark brown glaze over the saddle
The back side
Added stars!
Turned that back goat into the "Red Bull" from the Last Unicorn movie - and the butterfly into the one from the movie too!
The Red Bull and Butterfly
Close up on the face
The Back side
Back of the neck
Mom wanted less stars, and also for me to make horns out of magic sculpt for the bull. So I did! DONE!
The new bull horns
Less stars. She looks content.
